South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries has contracted Paris-based GTT to design tanks for two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers.

Both of the vessels would feature GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system, GTT said in a statement on Tuesday.

Samsung Heavy would deliver the vessels to an unidentified owner between late 2024 and early 2025, GTT said, but it did not provide any additional information.

The Korean yard has this month revealed orders for in total four LNG carriers.

This includes an order for three LNG carriers for two owners and a contract for a single LNG carrier.

In total, SHI won orders for 21 LNG carriers this year.
