GTT books LNG tank gig from Hyundai Samho

South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries has contracted France’s GTT to design tanks for another LNG carrier.

According to a statement on Tuesday, GTT will provide design and associated engineering services for the tanks of one 174,000-cbm LNG carrier.

Also, GTT said the vessel would feature its Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

HSHI will deliver the vessel in the fourth quarter of 2025 to an Asian owner.

GTT did not provide any additional information.

This order is identical to the one GTT revealed on May 11 tied to Japan’s MOL and similar to the order on May 20 tied to Norway’s Knutsen.

HSHI’s parent KSOE revealed only two orders for single LNG carriers in April with deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter.

VesselsValue data also suggests that only MOL and Knutsen would take deliveries of single LNG carriers from Hyundai Samho in the fourth quarter.

Last week, KSOE also announced that Hyundai Samho won an order from an Asian owner for two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers with deliveries by February 2025.
