GTT wins DSME tank gig

France’s GTT has won a contract from South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering to design tanks for a new LNG carrier.

The LNG containment giant said DSME would build the 174,000-cbm LNG carrier for South Korean shipowner Hyundai LNG Shipping.

The newbuild will feature GTT’s NO96 GW membrane containment system.

In addition, DSME would deliver the ship at the end of 2023, GTT said.

To remind, DSME announced this order in May saying it would build the vessel for 216.9 billion won ($195 million).

DSME said the vessel would feature MAN ME-GI propulsion and a reliquefaction system.

Hyundai LNG Shipping will charter the vessel to Spain’s Repsol under a long-term deal.
