Hartmann’s first LNG-fueled LEG carrier named in China

Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering has hosted a naming ceremony for the first LNG dual-fuel liquid ethylene gas (LEG) carrier it built for German shipping group Hartmann.

The naming ceremony for GasChem Fuji (S1064) took place on April 9, according to a statement by the shipbuilder.

This vessel is the first of three Hartmann’s 7,200-cbm LEG carriers ordered back in 2022.

According to the statement, the DNV-classed vessel will serve a charter deal with Japan’s Marubeni.
