Hudong delivers LNG tanker to CSSC Shipping

Chinese LNG shipbuilding giant Hudong-Zhonghua has delivered the first carrier to CSSC Shipping, the financial leasing unit of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.

Hudong, also part of CSSC, held the delivery ceremony for the 174,000-cbm Mu Lan on Sunday.

To remind, the LNG carrier has completed its gas trials last month and Hudong held a naming ceremony earlier this week.

Shipbuilding sources previously told LNG Prime this vessel would go on charter to state-owned giant CNPC.

Hudong is also building sister vessel Gui Ying which recently completed its sea trials.

Besides these vessels, the Chinese yard also signed another contract with CSSC Shipping in July for the third LNG carrier.

Part of Hudong’s fourth-generation Changxing series, all the LNG carriers will feature WinGD’s X-DF dual-fuel engines and GTT’s NO96 L03+ containment system.

They will be 295 meters long and 45 meters wide.
