Hyundai Samho awards new LNG tank gig to GTT

French LNG containment giant GTT has won a new order from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.

Under the contract awarded in the first quarter of this year, GTT will design the tanks of two LNG carriers with a capacity of 174,000 cbm.

Accordingt to a GTT statement, the vessels will feature GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

GTT added that HSHI plans to deliver the LNG carriers to a European shipowner in the first quarter of 2027, but it did not provide any additional information.

This deal is probably related to a recent contract HSHI’s parent HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering announced for two LNG carriers worth about $519 million.

HSHI will deliver these vessels by March 2027.

Shipbuilding sources told LNG Prime at the time that Greece’s Capital Gas is the owner behind this order.
