Hyundai Samho to build two LNG-powered PCTCs for about $240 million

South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Samho has secured an order to build two LNG-powered pure car and truck carriers worth about $240 million.

HSHI’s parent Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) said in a stock exchange filling on Wednesday that HSHI would build the LNG dual-fuel PCTCs for an owner based in the Middle East.

KSOE said the contact has a price tag of 331.8 billion won ($240 million).

Moreover, HSHI will deliver the two LNG-powered carriers by August 2025.

KSOE did not provide any additional information.

Earlier this year, Hyundai Samho also won an order from an owner in Middle East for two LNG-powered PCTCs worth about $239 million.

Brokers said that Ray Car Carriers had ordered these two LNG-powered PCTCs with a capacity of 7,500 units and scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2025.
