LNG-ready tanker joins Capital Ship Management’s fleet

Greece’s Capital Ship Management has taken delivery of an LNG-ready chemical/product MR tanker from Hyundai Vietnam.

The Evangelos Marinakis-led firm said in a statement that the 50,000-dwt Avax is the third of six LNG-ready sister ships.

It comes with the HVSC-ready notation for vessels equipped with high voltage shore connection systems to be installed in the future, and the wind-assist ready notation which refers to vessels equipped with wind-assist equipment to be installed on board, Capital Ship Management said.

Also, the vessel has “future proof design compliant” with EEDI Phase 3 and is annotated with ABS Sustain 1.

Prior to this vessel, Capital Ship Management took delivery of the 50,000-dwt LNG-ready Agisilaos and also Alkiviadis.

In addition, South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries handed over last year two ammonia and LNG-ready very large crude carriers to the firm.

These vessels are the 300,000-dwt Alterego and Amore Mio.
