China’s New Times Shipbuilding has hosted launching ceremonies for two LNG-powered bulk carriers it is building for Eastern Pacific Shipping and Himalaya Shipping.
NTS launched the 210,000-dwt LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier, Mount Cook, on June 9 for Idan Ofer’s EPS, it said in a statement.

The Chinese yard is building in total eleven 210,000-dwt LNG dual-fuel bulk carriers for EPS.
This LNG-powered bulker is the eighth vessel in the batch.
Besides Mount Cook, NTS also launched the 210,000-dwt LNG dual-fuel, Mount Neblina, on June 9 for Tor Olav Trøim’s Himalaya.
This is the sixth vessel in a series of 12 Himalaya’s LNG-powered bulkers.

Himalaya recently secured charter deals for two LNG-powered Newcastlemax bulk carriers it has on order at NTS.
It now chartered out nine of its 12 twelve LNG dual-fuel Newcastlemax bulk carriers.
