RPGCL said in a tender document that the delivery windows are August 30-31, September 10-11, and September 21-22.
The firm issued the tender to the 23 organizations that have signed the MSPA (master sale and purchase agreement) with Petrobangla.
The tender closes on July 27.
Before this tender, RGPCL invited bids on July 9 for three spot LNG shipments with deliveries during August 4-5, August 21-22, and August 22-29.
After that, RPGCL issued a new tender on July 14 for deliveries between August 21 and 22, and August 22 and 29.
According to several reports in Bangladesh and Oman, Oman’s state-owned firm OQ Trading just signed a deal to supply LNG to RPGCL.
The new sales and purchase agreement (SPA) is for one LNG cargo per month from August 2025 through December 2026, totalling 17 cargoes, the reports say.
In 2023, Petrobangla signed a long-term deal to buy LNG from OQ Trading.
Under this SPA, OQ Trading will supply 0.25-1.5 million mt per year of LNG to Bangladesh over 10 years, starting in 2026.
This was the second LNG supply deal as the two firms had already signed a 10-year deal back in 2018.
Bangladesh currently imports LNG via two FSRU-based facilities, both of which feature Excelerate Energy’s FSRUs.
The 138,000-cbm FSRU Excellence serves Bangladesh’s first LNG import facility, Moheshkhali Floating LNG or MLNG, operated by Petrobangla.
Excelerate’s 138,000-cbm FSRU Summit LNG serves as the second LNG import facility operated by Summit.
