South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries has contracted Paris-based GTT to design tanks for one 180,000-cbm LNG carrier.

The vessel would feature GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system, GTT said in a statement on Wednesday.

Samsung Heavy would deliver the vessel to an unidentified owner in the second quarter of 2024, GTT said, but it did not provide any additional information.

Denmark’s Celsius Tankers said this week it has ordered two more LNG carriers at Samsung Heavy.

The shipping firm now has eight 180,000-cbm vessels on order at the Korean yard.
