SHI to deliver new LNG carrier to GasLog

Greece-based shipping firm GasLog will soon take delivery of a new vessel which will go on charter to US LNG exporter Cheniere.

South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries will deliver the 180,000-cbm GasLog Winchester in August, according to the Greek company led by Peter Livanos.

GasLog said the LNG carrier has started its sea trials on Thursday and would return to the yard on July 5.

Equipped with WinGD’s dual-fuel propulsion, the vessel also features GTT’s Mark III Flex Plus containment system.

GasLog Winchester is the last ship in a series of four that will serve Cheniere under long-term contracts.

The quartet Samsung built for GasLog includes two 174,000-cbm and two 180,000-cbm vessels.

GasLog took delivery of the third vessel, the 180,000-cbm GasLog Wellington, in May.
