Wartsila to support NYK’s LNG carriers

Wartsila has signed long-term maintenance agreements for two LNG carriers with a unit of Japanese shipping giant NYK.

The 15-year agreements with NYK LNG Ship Management cover the 50DF dual-fuel engines and other equipment installed on the vessels, according to Wartsila.

The Finnish firm said it signed the contracts in December 2020 while they took effect from January this year.

In addition, the full scope of the agreements includes all scheduled parts, workshop services, field services, maintenance planning and remote operational support.

The deals also entail asset diagnostics and anomaly detection, and dynamic maintenance planning, Wartsila said.
