Norway’s Eidesvik Offshore has secured a contract extension for one of its LNG-powered PSVs.
According to a statement by Eidesvik, Germany’s Wintershall Dea and Austria’s OMV have declared an option to extend the contract for the supply vessel Viking Queen.
The contract extension runs from May 2024 in direct continuation of the current contract, extending the firm period to October 2025, it said.
Eidesvik did not provide any additional information regarding the contract.
The firm annouced in March a 12-month contract extension for Viking Queen with Wintershall Dea with options for further extensions.
Besides LNG propulsion, the 92.3 meters long Viking Queen features a battery hybrid system and a shore power system.
Eidesvik also has four additional LNG-powered PSVs in its fleet, including the 2013-built, Viking Princess, that also serves Wintershall Dea under a charter deal.
