Finland-based Gasum has signed another deal to supply LNG via trucks and this time with a Norwegian steel manufacturer.
The firm said it secured the deal with Celsa Armeringsstal for deliveries in Mo i Rana area in Norway.
Additionally, the contract includes a new customer LNG terminal to be built in Mo Industrial Park .
Gasum sees the launch of the facility that could also help bring new customers in the area in July 2021.
The Nordic supplier will deliver LNG to the terminal by trucks that previously loaded at its partly-owned plant in Tornio, Northern Finland.
The Tornio terminal is the largest LNG terminal in the Nordics and is located on the Swedish border. This allows Gasum to serve customers in Finland, Sweden and now in Norway.
Furthermore, Celsa is the largest Nordic steel manufacturer and switching to LNG will contribute to the company’s target of lowering CO2 emissions, Gasum says.
The Norwegain firm will use LNG to power its Armeringsstal’s steel plant and rolling mill.
