French LNG containment specialist GTT revealed on Monday it has signed a technical service agreement with Qatari shipping giant Nakilat to support the latter’s LNG fleet.
Under the agreement, GTT would provide its support in the maintenance and operation of Nakilat’s fleet of 26 LNG carriers which are all fitted with GTT’s Mark III or NO96 technologies.
The scope of work also includes the firm’s on-site technical assistance for inspection, maintenance, repairs, operations, and engineering services, according to GTT.
Nakilat would also have access to GTT’s hotline emergency assistance and response service. GTT said this service enables shipowners and their crews to contact the company’s experts 24 hours a day to report any operational issues.
GTT did not reveal the duration or the price tag of the new deal.
“We welcome the signature of this agreement with our partner Nakilat, which owns and operates a large fleet of vessels equipped with our membrane technology,” said Philippe Berterottière, chairman and CEO of GTT.
Nakilat recently said it had taken delivery of a newbuild LNG carrier, boosting its fleet to 74 vessels. This includes 69 LNG carriers, one FSRU, and four LPG carriers.
