Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries has secured an order to build two LNG carriers for Oman’s Asyad Shipping, according to Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering.
KSOE said on Thursday its unit Hyundai Samho would build the two vessels for 650 billion won ($501 million) or some $250.5 million per vessel.
The shipbuilder aims to deliver the ships by June 2026.
Including this contract, KSOE and its units received orders for a total of 197 vessels worth $23.9 billion this year.
KSOE now achieved 137 percent of its annual order target of $17.4 billion.
According to Asyad Shipping’s website, the company operates a total of six LNG ships to support the transportation of LNG produced at the Qalhat complex in Oman.
The latest addition to its fleet was the 162,000-cbm Adam LNG, built in 2014 by Hyundai Heavy Industries.
