KN announced the contract award in a statement on Friday, without revealing the pricing details.
The company’s role will include commercial and operational advisory services for the FSRU-based project, drawing on the company’s expertise in floating LNG infrastructure, gained through the long-term operation of the Klaipada FSRU-based LNG terminal in Lithuania and participation in multiple FSRU and floating terminal projects across Europe, KN said.
KN added that the FSRU development is strategically important for Poland and the wider Baltic Sea region, aimed at strengthening gas supply diversification and long-term energy security.
South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries recently launched MOL’s FSRU, which will serve Gaz-System’s Gdansk LNG project.
The 170,000-cbm FSRU is expected to arrive at the Gulf of Gdansk at the end of 2027, and the commencement of regasification services is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028, according to Gaz-System.
Poland’s Orlen previously booked the entire 6.1 bcm per year of regasification capacity at the FSRU-based facility.
In addition to this unit, Gaz-System plans to install a second FSRU as part of the project.
