MAN wins contract for Revithoussa LNG truck loading station

Germany’s MAN Energy Solutions has won a contract for a pilot truck loading station at DESFA’s LNG import terminal located on the island of Revithoussa, Greece.

Volkswagen’s MAN said on Tuesday it won the engineering and services contract from TERNA, a unit of Greece’s GEK TERNA Group.

Under the deal, MAN will supply “fully-engineered, logistical infrastructure for managing the downstream supply of LNG via trucks to clients,” it said.

In addition, the pilot station is part of DESFA’s development plan for the Revithoussa terminal at the Gulf of Megara terminal, west of Athens.

The Greek gas grid and LNG terminal operator announced it would build the truck loading station in June 2020. The station will have one loading bay for trucks with a capacity of 50 cbm and a loading flow of 100 cbm/h, according to DESFA.

Moreover, the station worth about 6.5 million euros ($7.7 million) should go online by the end of this year.

To remind, DESFA has also recently taken a final investment decision to build a small-scale jetty at Revithoussa, boosting bunkering opportunities in the region.

The project has a price tag of about 20.4 million euros ($24.2 million) and the firm expects to launch the new jetty in September next year.
