Pakistan floats tender for six spot LNG cargoes

State-owned Pakistan LNG has released a new tender inviting firms to submit bids for a total of six shipments for delivery in May and June.

Pakistan LNG offered six windows for the cargo deliveries, according to a tender document dated April 17.

The delivery windows include May 12-13, May 17-18, May 27-28, June 1-2, June 6-7, and June 16-17.

Pakistan LNG is seeking 140,000-cbm cargoes on a delivered ex-ship (DES) basis while the tender closes on April 21.

Also, the potential tender winner will deliver the cargoes to the FSRU BW Integrity serving Pakistan GasPort’s terminal in Port Qasim, Karachi, or the Energo Elengy facility.

Prior to this tender, Pakistan LNG sought two LNG cargoes over the April-May period as the country looks to secure supplies for its power plants.

Trader Vitol submitted the most competitive bid for the April 21-22 delivery, while state-owned energy giant PetroChina submitted the lowest bid for the May 14-15 window.

Vitol offered a price of $34.6777/MMBtu while PetroChina priced its cargo at $33.5300/MMBtu.

Local media reports suggest that Pakistan LNG had decided not to buy these two cargoes due to high prices.
