France-based Technip Energies said it has secured a “significant” contract from Kuwait Petroleum’s unit KIPIC for various projects in southern Kuwait.
The six-year contract worth between 50 million and 250 million euros ($305 million) covers project engineering and management services for various potential projects in the KIPIC-operated Al-Zour complex.
These include the Al-Zour refinery, petrochemical complex, LNG import facilities, and other facilities belonging to KIPIC, Technip Energies said in a statement on Thursday.
Kuwait Petroleum formed KIPIC in 2016 to manage refinery, petrochemicals and LNG import operations in the giant Al-Zour complex.
Moreover, the Al-Zour complex and the $3 billion LNG import terminal are located some 90 kilometers south of the capital Kuwait City.
The complex includes a regasification facility but also eight 225,000-cbm LNG storage tanks.
