A unit of Finland’s Wartsila has signed a deal with Greek shipowner GasLog to support the latter’s five liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
According to a Wartsila statement on Thursday, Wartsila Gas Solutions has signed a three-year service and maintenance agreement with GasLog LNG Services.
The agreement covers five 180,000-cbm LNG carriers, all of which are fitted with Wartsila mixed refrigerant (MR) reliq liquefaction plants.
Gaslog’s 180,000-cbm LNG carriers include GasLog Warsaw, GasLog Wales, GasLog Westminster, GasLog Windsor, and GasLog Wellington. These vessels were delivered between 2019 and 2021, GasLog’s website shows,
Warstila said the signing took place in December 2024, and the order was booked in the same month.
The tech firm did not provide the price tag of the agreement.
By optimizing the operation of the ships’ MR reliq plants, the boil-off gas (BOG) from the LNG cargo can be efficiently managed, according to Wartsila.
This reduces emissions while also minimizing cargo losses, thereby improving the vessels’ economic performance, the firm said.
The scope of the agreement includes technical support, secured availability of spare parts and specialized field service personnel, as well as performance monitoring of the MR reliq plants.
Wartsila digital services will also provide remote technical support and operational data monitoring.
GasLog LNG Services has long been a customer of Wartsila, and the company’s fleet operates with a range of Wartsila solutions.

This followed the successful delivery of its sister vessel, GasLog Italy.
GasLog ordered these vessels and two other 174,000-cbm LNG carriers at Hanwha Ocean in December 2021.
According to GasLog, the fleets of both GasLog and GasLog Partners consist of 36 LNG carriers, with two vessels under construction.
