EDF’s unit names gas trading head

EDF Trading, a unit of French state-controlled energy group EDF, said it has appointed Alex Watson as its new head of gas trading.

Watson previously worked at Connecticut-based trading house Freepoint Commodities.

Prior to that, he worked as a European natural gas trader at Citigroup, according to a statement by London-based EDF Trading.

Alex took up the role at EDF Trading on July 19 and reports to Marcello Romano, head of trading.

“I’m delighted to welcome Alex to EDF Trading”, Romano said.

“He has extensive knowledge of the natural gas and LNG markets and will help us to expand our global gas footprint and the services we provide to the EDF Group and our third party customers,” he said.
