France’s Elengy in LNG reloading milestone

French LNG terminal operator Elengy said it has completed its 100th reloading operation since it started offering these services in 2012.

Elengy said in a statement its Fos Cavaou terminal located near Marseille, on the Mediterranean coast, welcomed the 155,000-cbm GasLog Savannah on August 30 to perform the milestone reloading operation.

It did not provide any additional information on the 100th reloading operation.

The GasLog-owned 2010-built LNG carrier left the Fos Cavaou facility last week and it was on Tuesday located in Port Said, the northern end of the Suez Canal, according to its AIS data.

These 100 reloaded cargoes represent around 6 million tonnes of LNG, according to Elengy.

The unit of Engie’s GRTgaz said it had loaded the shipments on 58 different LNG carriers. Also, the firm’s clients delivered the shipments from Elengy’s terminals to 25 countries around the world, the statement said.

Besides the Fos Cavaou terminal, Elengy also operates the Fos Tonkin and Montoir-de-Bretagne facilities.

On top of these 100 reloads, the Montoir facility has completed 73 ship-to-ship transhipments since 2013. The LNG import terminal located on the Atlantic coast has completed 69 of these operations since 2018, Elengy said.
