Italy’s RINA wins Vopak LNG contract

Italian classification society RINA has won a contract from a unit of Dutch storage tank firm Vopak in support of its LNG growth strategy.

The three-year framework deal covers engineering and consultancy services for Vopak LNG, RINA said on Friday.

Furthermore, the contract includes global onshore facilities, offshore floating technologies, and marine structures.

RINA said it would deliver a variety of services ranging from concept and feasibility studies to engineering for permitting, environmental assessments, FEED but also owner’s services through execution, commissioning and start-up.

In addition, RINA said its global teams would lead the work and draw expertise from across the company’s multidisciplinary team.

The project builds on previous work with Vopak LNG, the Italian firm said.

“We have extensive expertise in supporting and developing LNG projects including Mozambique LNG, Jafrabad LNG in India and the small-scale LNG-to-power supply chain in the Mediterranean Sea and Far East,” RINA said.
