LNG Croatia launches ship-to-truck offering

State-owned LNG Croatia, the operator of the FSRU-based Krk import facility, has started offering LNG reloading services directly from the vessel to trucks.

The LNG terminal operator said in a statement it introduced the new non-standard service to its terminal users on April 11.

“By providing this service, the LNG terminal on the Island of Krk has become unique in the world of the LNG industry since we are the first to perform a complex LNG reload operation directly from the FSRU vessel to trucks,” it said.

On a monthly basis, the terminal users will be able to book about 40 slots to fill their trucks with LNG.

LNG Croatia did not provide any additional information.

Earlier this month, the Krk terminal received its 26th LNG cargo since the start of operations in January last year.

Most of these shipments arrived from the US. The 140,000-cbm FSRU also received cargoes from Qatar, Nigeria, Egypt, Trinidad, and reloads from Dunkirk and Zeebrugge.

The Croatian government also recently said that LNG Croatia had managed to raise the capacity of the terminal from 2.6 billion cubic meters of gas to 2.9 bcm per year without new investment.

Neighbor Slovenia is interested in booking these new capacities.
