Molgas in Zeebrugge bio-LNG move

European small-scale LNG player Molgas has kicked off a truck-to-ship bio-LNG bunkering service in the Belgian port of Zeebrugge.

Molgas said on Wednesday that the first deliveries of bio-LNG started in January, with “multiple operations running smoothly through our well-established logistics network delivering bio-LNG with negative carbon intensity score.”

“More deliveries are already scheduled in the coming weeks,” the firm said.

Through its multi-truck-to-ship process, Molgas manages deliveries of 200-300 tons simultaneous to the operation of the vessel (SIMOPS), it said.

The firm noted that the port of Zeebrugge is a “key” hub for vessels fueled by bio-LNG, “enabling us to serve the marine customers efficiently.”

Molgas did not provide further details regarding the deliveries and the customers.

The company has been very busy expanding its LNG bunkering network in Europe.

In December 2024, the Madrid-based group, owned by French private equity firm InfraVia Capital Partners, completed its first truck-to-ship LNG bunkering operation in the UK.

Earlier the same year, Molgas completed its first LNG bunkering operations in Italy, Belgium, and in France.

Molgas also bought a 45 percent stake in Dutch LNG supplier Titan.
