OMV launches LNG-powered trucks in Turkey

A unit of Austrian energy firm OMV has taken delivery of eight LNG-powered trucks as it looks to slash emissions and costs in Turkey.

Italian truck manufacturer Iveco said it has delivered its S-Way NP vehicles to OMV Turkey during a ceremony held in Istanbul last month.

With this move, OMV Turkey replaces 10 percent of if its fleet consisting of 80 trucks.

In addition, the firm has also built an LNG filling station in Bolu in northwestern Turkey, located between the capital, Ankara and the largest city in the country, Istanbul.

OMV’s unit in Turkey supplies LNG from terminals in the country via trucks to customers that do not have access to pipeline gas.
