Poland’s Don Trucking expands LNG-powered fleet

Polish transport firm Don Trucking is continuing to expand its fleet of LNG-powered vehicles as it looks to reduce emissions.

Don Trucking said it has recently taken delivery of 20 Iveco S-Way LNG tractor units with 460 HP engines.

By the end of this year, the company’s fleet will be strengthened by another 20 of the same vehicles, boosting its fleet to a total of 60 LNG-powered trucks.

According to Don Trucking, the new model is meeting the emission standards that would apply from 2022.

Back in 2018, Don Trucking became the first firm in Poland to receive 20 IVECO Stralis NP tractors.

With these trucks, the firm had started the process of completely replacing its fleet of diesel-powered trucks with vehicles that can go on both LNG and bio-LNG, Don Trucking said.

Poland imports LNG via the country’s first and only LNG import terminal in Swinoujscie.

Also, the country is building a network of LNG filling stations. Some of the largest players in the LNG industry have already opened filling stations in Poland.

Shell has launched its first LNG filling station in Poland last year and continues to build more stations while Novatek has also opened several LNG stations in the country.
