Spain’s ESP Solutions launches fleet of LNG-powered trucks

Spanish logistics firm ESP Solutions has launched a fleet of LNG-powered trucks as it looks to slash emissions and costs.

A unit of Italian truck manufacturer Iveco said it has delivered 300 of its S-Way NP vehicles with a range of up to 1,600 kilometers to ESP Solutions last week.

“It marks the largest natural gas vehicle operation for a Spanish logistics fleet,” Iveco said in a statement, but it did not provide any additional information.

Murcia-based ESP owns a fleet of more than 750 vehicles operating throughout Europe, according to its website. The firm launched its first Iveco LNG-powered truck in December last year.

The new trucks will be able to refuel at a growing number of LNG stations across Europe.

According to a recent report by Brussels-based association NGVA Europe, Europe’s fueling network has reached 400 LNG stations but also 4,000 CNG facilities.
