Sempra LNG, a unit of Sempra Energy, is seeking a gas fundamentals manager.
Lead and manage the development of fundamental analysis in support of Sempra LNG and Midstream project development opportunities. Use RBAC’s Gas Pipelines Competitive Model (GPCM) to model regional natural gas price basis and pipeline capacity utilization. Run and analyze numerous model sensitivities to evaluate incremental infrastructure development and alternative demand and supply curves.
Be able to translate alternative views regarding North American gas play relative competitiveness into supply curves for use with GPCM. Summarize GPCM modelling results and present those findings to middle and senior management.
Manage and train new GPCM users. Track pipeline industry announcements and ensure that GPCM base case reflects expected infrastructure changes.
The successful candidate must be a team player and have the ability to manage different projects and team members simultaneously. The individual will also have excellent analytical, financial modeling, and communication and presentation skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertakes a variety of activities to support ongoing project development opportunities including fundamental analysis, long-term natural gas market forecasting (using GPCM), market research and analysis. Present conclusions to Senior Management.
- Manage and supervise North American gas markets team members, with an emphasis on developing members’ skills in fundamental analysis while overseeing work activities to ensure client relationships remain positive. Manage internal client relationships to provide relevant and timely analysis, including providing updates on relevant market developments, develop scope of work for analyses, develop market analysis, and present results.
- Evaluate international energy markets and policies and competitive positioning of alternative energy development strategies and/or market players.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
