Shell: Business Development Manager–DLNG Sales

Shell is seeking a business development manager for downstream LNG sales to be based in Mumbai, India.

Where you fit in

The energy market in India is poised to become an exciting opportunity with steady growth, infrastructure build-out, and imminent liberalization. Shell is a significant participant in this opportunity with Shell Energy India (SEI) as the downstream extension in the energy value chain to capture value. SEI is Shell’s single face for the energy requirements of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers in India initially focusing on gas / LNG by pipelines and trucks, but also including power and other energy and environment products and services in future.

The SEI business comprises Gas Marketing & Trading; Commercial Operations; Downstream LNG (LNG by trucks and LNG for trucks); and Power. The DLNG team initiated trucked LNG sales late in 2020, and, is responsible for development of new business opportunities for LNG by trucks to the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector and use of LNG as a transportation fuel for heavy duty vehicles.

As some of these opportunities are at a nascent stage, Shell as an industry leader has an opportunity to provide guidance to the government and regulatory bodies on developing the enabling regulations and safety standards

What’s the role?

As Business Development Manager (BDM) – DLNG Sales, you will be accountable in identifying opportunities for LNG sale and purchase, negotiate enabling commercial agreements with potential C&I customers, Fleet operators, Hauliers, OEMs and City Gas Distribution companies and maintain relationships with key counterparties, in order to deliver SEI’s business plan.

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic front line deal making team, responsible to deliver SEI’s important strategic growth agenda. It is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong and consistent track record of delivery to broaden her/his skills in the growing energy marketing business.
