Shell: Process Engineer LNG

Shell is seeking a process engineer LNG to be based in the Netherlands.

What’s the role?

The roles are in the LNG Centre of Expertise in the Netherlands with activities ranging from LNG Technology Maturation, LNG Front-End Project Development, LNG Market Development support and technical support to LNG Assets.

The Technology Maturation team is responsible for a diverse portfolio of new technologies to improve the performance of and modernize existing LNG assets, enhance future LNG projects as well as use Shells decades long liquefaction experience to support Liquid Hydrogen technologies.

The successful applicants will be responsible to coordinate/deliver sub-elements in the technology and concept maturation program, where activities can include ensuring technical assurance of integrated solutions involving equipment sizing, heat and material balances; integration of the liquefaction process with utilities, storage and loading, upstream and transport as well as maintaining networks with third party technology suppliers.

The Front-End projects development and market development team are responsible for early capital project definition for projects ranging from full LNG export plants to LNG Storage and Loading facilities, LNG Regasification Plants, LNG bunkering facilities, LNG retail, small-scale liquefaction plants as well as Liquid hydrogen facilities. 

The successful applicants will be responsible for process engineering support and integration in LNG front end project development, leading or participating in technical safety reviews/ HAZOPs as well as identify and drive GHG emission management and abatement plans.

Asset support activities can range from leading technological advice (e.g. troubleshooting, problem analysis), ensuring technical integrity of process design changes or Brown Field projects satisfies local and international standards, scoping and leading development studies and projects related to plant performance improvements and participating in process safety studies/HAZOPs.  

Aside from participating in individual asset support activities the succesful applicant is expected to actively identify best practices and ensure share over the asset portfolio.
