Avenir LNG’s unit hits cargo transfer milestone

A unit of small-scale LNG player Avenir LNG has reached the milestone of its 100th cargo transfer operation.

According to a social media posted by Avenir on Thursday, Avenir Supply & Trading completed these cargo loading/unloading and bunkering operations with zero lost-time safety incidents using the small-scale LNG vessels Avenir Ascension and Avenir Aspiration.

The firm said it looks forward to further expanding its reach, but it did not provide any additional information regarding the milestone operation.

In April, Avenir started deliveries of LNG with the 7,500-cbm LNG bunkering and supply vessel, Avenir Ascension, to two RoPax ferries owned by Germany’s TT-Line in the Swedish port of Trelleborg.

Prior to that, Avenir joined forces with energy trader Vitol to complete what it says is Germany’s first direct LNG unloading operation from a transport vessel into trucks.

On February 22 and 23, Avenir Ascension unloaded LNG directly into transport trucks in the Mukran port on the island of Rügen, Germany,
