CMA CGM’s LNG-powered flagship sets another record

CMA CGM’s flagship LNG-powered giant containership Jacques Saade marked a new world record following its departure from Singapore.

The 23,000 TEU containership departed Singapore on October 12 carrying 20,723 full containers, according to the French shipping line.

This sets a world record for the number of full containers loaded on a single vessel, it said.

To remind, the 400 meters long Jacques Saade left Hudong-Zhonghua’s yard in Shanghai on September 23.

This is the vessels’ maiden voyage on the CMA CGM French Asia Line, connecting Asia with Europe.

The line provides a weekly service comprising 13 calls over the course of 84 days.

The world’s largest LNG-powered vessel is now heading for Europe via the Suez Canal.

CMA CGM’s shipping schedule shows the vessel is expected to arrive in Rotterdam on November 8.

Besides this ship, CMA CGM has eight more 23,000 TEU LNG-powered sister vessels on order at CSSC’s Hudong and Jiangnan Shipyard.
