Eastern Pacific Shipping books another LNG PCTC in China

Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping has ordered another LNG-powered pure truck and car carrier at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard.

The duo signed the new deal via a video call on September 17 and EPS now has in total nine LNG PCTCs on order at the Chinese shipbuilder.

This new deal for one vessel follows the signing of a contract for four LNG-powered PCTCs on August 30 but also four in June.

Both of the orders include options for two vessels, boosting the total up to 12 LNG-powered ships for Idan Ofer’s EPS.

The 199.9 meters long vessels will have a total car capacity of about 7,000 units. In addition, each ship will feature two 2,000-cbm LNG tanks.

According to the EPS website, the yard should deliver all of the nine vessels in 2023-2025.
