German ferry operator TT-Line has taken delivery of its LNG-powered RoPax ferry, Nils Holgersson, in China.
China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Nanjing delivered the 230 meters long vessel to the owner during a ceremony held on Monday.
“Within the next few days, the ship and its crew will begin their journey towards the Baltic Sea, covering some 11,600 nautical miles to Travemünde,” TT-Line said in a statement.

The Chinese yard is also building a sister ship which it launched in July last year.
Both of the vessels feature MAN dual-fuel engines and two 500-cbm type C LNG tanks, according to TT-Line.
The ships, based on TT-Line’s ‘Green Ship’ design, will have the capacity for 800 passengers and over 200 vehicles, and will both work in the Baltic Sea.
