GSI delivers another LNG-fueled tanker to Bocomm Leasing

China’s Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co (Bocomm Leasing) has taken delivery of another LNG-powered tanker which will go on a charter to a unit of Shell.

CSSC’s Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) delivered the 110,000-dwt crude oil and product tanker, Proteus Bohemia, on November 24, it said in a statement.

According to GSI, this is the fourth out of eight LNG-powered tankers the shipbuilder is constructing for Bocomm Leasing.

The yard delivered the first, the second, and the third ship in May, August, and September this year, respectively.

Bocomm Leasing ordered twelve dual-fuel tankers in April 2020 at two CSSC yards for about $54 million per each vessel.

Besides these eight ships, CSSC’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) already delivered four tankers.

The ships are 249.95 meters long, 44 meters wide, and they feature two type C LNG fuel tanks as well as WinGD dual-fuel main engine.

Following delivery in 2022-2023, all of the LNG-powered vessels will go on charter to Shell.
