French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique is moving forward with construction on The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s second LNG-powered superyacht.
Chantiers de l’Atlantique held a keel-laying ceremony for the LNG-powered Luminara at its yard in Saint-Nazaire on March 6.
The shipbuilder kicked off work on this vessel in June last year.
Luminara, derived from Latin origin and meaning “light,” will measure 242 meters and accommodate up to 452 guests.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, an ultra-luxury cruise line established by Marriott International’s Ritz-Carlton brand and Oaktree Capital Management, expects the the vessel to embark on its inaugural voyage in July 2025.
This is a sister vessel to Ilma, which was launched in September last year.
The cruise company ordered these two LNG-powered vessels at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in March 2022.
Ilma is slated to take to the seas in September this year, with a seven-night itinerary from Monte Carlo, Monaco to Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy.
This vessel will be the second newbuild superyacht from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection as its inaugural yacht, Evrima, embarked on its maiden voyage in October 2022.
