Pavilion and Vitol mark Singapore LNG bunkering first

Temasek-owned Pavilion Energy and a unit of trader Vitol completed a milestone truck-to-ship LNG bunkering operation in Singapore’s Jurong Port.

The operation included two trucks supplying 34 cbm of LNG to the Vitol Marine Vicky. The vessel is Singapore’s first conventional fuel bunker tanker sailing on LNG.

To remind, Vitol inherited the dual-fuel vessel earlier this year after buying Singapore-based bunkering specialist Sinanju Tankers.

As per the operation, it did not mark just the first bunkering for Vitol Marine Vicky but also for a newly-ordered LNG truck with Pavilion’s appointed operator.

The new LNG-enabled equipment involved in this operation “demonstrates the industry’s commitment to the development of LNG as a marine fuel in Singapore,” Pavilion said.

Following this operation, Pavilion will start regular two-trucks-to-ship operations with the Marine Vicky under a supply contract with Vitol’s unit V-Bunkers Tankers.
