Finland’s Gasgrid offers Inkoo FSRU regas slot for July

Finland’s Gasgrid is offering one regasification slot for July at the FSRU-based LNG import terminal in Inkoo.

According to a statement by Gasgrid, the additional late spot slot capacity allocation will start on May 15 and will be closed on May 19.

The delivery window is for July 7-8 and the size is 500 GWh, while the regasification capacity usage period ends on July 31, it said.

Gasgrid said it will consider requests for different size of cargo, however it will give the priority to the “conventional size vessel with highest volume”.

“Late spot slot capacity allocation is performed on first-come-first-serve principals, according to the time stamp of received request email from an applicant,” Gasgrid said.

Excelerate Energy’s 150,900-cbm FSRU Exemplar, which serves Gasgrid’s import facility in Inkoo under a charter deal, recently received a cargo from the US.

This delivery followed the first commercial LNG shipment for the new FSRU-based facility in Finland.

Eesti Gas, a unit of Estonian investment firm Infortar, received the first LNG cargo from the US as well.

Also, the Tallinn-based firm, which is branded internationally as Elenger, will bring in total seven shipments via the Inkoo FSRU in spring and summer this year.

Gasgrid expects 1-2 vessels per month to arrive at the FSRU-based facility in Inkoo.

The firm also received approval to start offering reloading services at the FSRU-based facility in the port of Inkoo to boost the terminal’s utilization rate.

Gagrid’s unit and the operator of the LNG terminal, FLTF, is offering in total 35 terminal slots of 1,000 GWh each for the period from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
