Finland’s Hamina LNG offers terminal capacity from October

Hamina LNG is offering terminal capacity and related services to the market, as it looks to launch commercial operations at its LNG import facility in Finland’s Hamina port in October this year.

The LNG terminal developer is a joint venture consisting of Finland’s Hamina Energy, tech firm Wartsila, and Estonia’s energy company Alexela.

The facility features one tank with a capacity of about 30,000 cbm and would supply about 3 TWh per year to the grid. It would also offer truck loading services from two bays and bunkering services.

Hamina LNG said in April that it would launch commercial operations at the delayed project in October this year.

Now the company has launched an open season to offer terminal capacity to the market for gas year 2023, starting from October 1, 2022 and ending on September 30, 2023, according to documents posted on Hamina LNG ‘s website.

Interested parties can also pre-book LNG storage services for gas year 2024, the firm said.

The open season will consist of a non-binding phase which ends on June 20 and a binding phase which starts on June 28.

Following the completion of the process, Hamina LNG expects to sign binding terminal services contracts with successful applicants by September 5.
