Adriatic LNG announced last week that it is offering available LNG regasification capacity during the period January 2029 – December 2051.
The open season includes two phases, with the non-Binding phase for the accreditation of interested operators starting on July 9 and ending on September 14.
Moreover, the binding phase is expected to start on September 17 and end on September 30.
Ariatic LNG is offering approximately 4 bcm for the period 2029-2034 and approximately 146 bcm for the period 2035-2051.
Adriatic LNG is authorized to a maximum regasification capacity of 10.4 bcm per year, of which 9.5 Bcm/y is constant and 0.9 Bcm/y is non-constant.
In 2025, the terminal injected 8.2 bcm of natural gas into the Italian grid, covering more than 13 percent of national gas demand.
The terminal received 71 LNG carriers last year, mainly from Qatar and the United States, as well as from North Africa and South America, the majority of which belonged to the Q-Flex class.
However, deliveries from Qatar to the facility have been affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
Last month, Italian energy firm Edison, a unit of EDF, said it had received a new force majeure notification from state-owned LNG giant QatarEnergy, affecting supplies scheduled for delivery at the Adriatic LNG terminal until early September.
As a result, a total of 21 LNG cargoes are now subject to force majeure over the delivery period from April to early September 2026, representing a total volume of approximately 2.7 bcm of natural gas, Edison said.
