Peru LNG terminal shipped five cargoes in June

Peru LNG’s 4.45 mtpa liquefaction plant at Pampa Melchorita has shipped five cargoes in June, one shipment more when compared to the month before, according to state-owned Perupetro.

Perupetro’s data shows that three shipments were sent to South Koeea and two cargoes to Taiwan.

The shipments loaded onboard the LNG carriers Magdala, Extremadura Knutsen, Shandong Juniper, GasLog Genoa, and Kool Baltic equal about 349,343 tonnes.

This compares to four cargoes and about 273,339 tonnes in May this year, while Peru LNG sent five cargoes, or about 335,203, in June 2022.

Peru LNG shipped 30 LNG cargoes during January-June, compared to 32 shipments during the same period last year, according to the data.

In total, the LNG plant sent 727 LNG cargoes since 2010, the data shows.

US-based Hunt Oil holds a 50 percent operating stake in the Pampa Melchorita LNG plant, while SK and Marubeni have 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

LNG giant Shell also holds a 20 percent stake and takes all the volumes produced at the facility.
