EIA said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 28 LNG vessels is 106 Bcf.
The agency did not release shipment data for the week ending March 26, while US LNG export terminals shipped 26 LNG vessels with a capacity of 98 Bcf for the week ending March 19.
Natural gas deliveries down
According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals decreased 0.2 Bcf/d from last week to 16.2 Bcf/d.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana decreased by 3.8 percent (0.4 Bcf/d) to 10.6 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas increased by 6.4 percent (0.3 Bcf/d) to 4.5 Bcf/d.
EIA said natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast were essentially unchanged at 1.2 Bcf/d this week.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped seven LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.
Moreover, the Freeport LNG terminal and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal each shipped four cargoes, while Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines and Calcasieu Pass terminals each sent three shipments.
In addition, the Cove Point terminal also shipped two cargoes, and the Elba Island facility sent one shipment during the week under review.
Henry Hub climbs
EIA said that the Henry Hub spot price rose 19 cents from $3.86 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $4.05/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The April 2025 NYMEX contract expired Thursday at $3.950/MMBtu, up 9 cents from last Wednesday.
EIA said the May 2025 NYMEX contract price increased to $4.055/MMBtu, up 18 cents from last Wednesday to this Wednesday.
Also, the price of the 12-month strip averaging May 2025 through April 2026 futures contracts climbed 10 cents to $4.560/MMBtu.
TTF averaged $13.08/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures decreased this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia decreased 18 cents to a weekly average of $13.15/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands decreased 27 cents to a weekly average of $13.08/MMBtu.
In the same week last year (week ending April 3, 2024), the prices were $9.51/MMBtu in East Asia and $8.42/MMBtu at TTF, EIA said.
