McDermott wins Caribbean LPG gig

McDermott’s unit CB&I Storage Solutions has won a contract to build four LPG spheres for an energy infrastructure project in the Caribbean region.

McDermott defined the contract as “sizable” meaning it is worth between $1 million and $50 million.

The scope of the project includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction of four LPG spheres.

Each spehere measures about 88 feet (26.8 meters) in diameter.

The spheres will have 63,100 barrels nominal capacity and 290 pounds (131.5 kilograms) per square inch design pressure.

The U.S. energy services provider said that fabrication and procurement will be performed at the company’s Fairbanks facility in Houston.

McDermott will do the engineering part of the contract at the company’s office in Plainfield.
