During the operation, the 18,500-cbm bunkering vessel, FueLNG Venosa, delivered liquefied natural to the LNG dual-fuel PCTC, Lake Shirasagi on December 22 at the Raffles Reserve Anchorage in Singapore.
FuelLNG said this marks its 300th STS LNG bunkering in Singapore, and this achievement also coincides with EPS reaching its 300th LNG bunkering operation globally.
The JV said this milestone comes in a year of significant growth for LNG-fueled vessels and newbuild orders.
In Singapore, annual LNG bunkering volumes have reached new highs in 2024, the JV said.
The JV previously said that it took it about 2.5 years to achieve the first 100 STS LNG bunkering operation, and 5 months to achieve 150 operations in March this year, underscoring the exponential growth and burgeoning demand for LNG bunkering in Singapore.
In June this year, FueLNG completed its 200th STS LNG bunkering operation.
This means that FueLNG achieved these new 100 operations in about six months.
FueLNG Bellina is Singapore’s first LNG bunkering vessel and it completed its first operation with a CMA CGM container vessel in March 2021.
In June last year, FueLNG Venosa completed its first LNG bunkering operation to the 210,000-dwt bulk carrier, Mount Tai.
This is FueLNG’s second bunkering vessel and the JV charters it from Korea Line LNG, a unit of SM Group’s Korea Line.
On the other hand, EPS completed its 250th ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation in September this year.
The milestone LNG bunkering operation took place in China.
EPS completed its first LNG bunkering operation in November 2020, the 50th operation in September 2022, the 100th operation in June 2023, the 150th operation and the 200th operation earlier this year.
The company has a large fleet of LNG-powered vessels, including containerships, tankers, bulkers, and PCTCs.
EPS recently ordered more LNG dual-fuel PCTCs in China.
A spokeswoman for EPS recently said that EPS has 121 LNG dual-fuel vessels in total across segments. This includes 62 operational vessels.
Additionally, the total number of vessels in the EPS fleet stands at 300, including operational vessels and on order, according to the spokeswoman.
