Gasum adds France to its LNG bunkering portfolio

Finland-based Gasum plans to start fueling vessels with LNG in French ports and waters after it secured a distribution licence.

The LNG supplier said in a statement it won the bunkering licence on February 17, expanding the firm’s geographic reach and supply network.

In addition, the licence will allow Gasum to deliver LNG to “a larger number of customers” in France, it said.

“Obtaining this licence marks another milestone in our quest to increase the outreach of our maritime LNG deliveries. It underlines Gasum’s commitment to act as a reliable European maritime LNG supplier,” Jacob Granqvist, vice president at Gasum, said in the statement.

Besides regularly serving customers in the Nordic countries, Gasum has a deal with Equinor for the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region.

Moreover, the firm also completed its first operation in Germany’s Emden in December last year.
