Gasum expands LNG bunkering business to Germany’s Emden

Finland-based Gasum continues to expand its LNG bunkering services in Europe by completing its first operation in Emden, Germany.

The firm said it completed the operation on November 22 bunkering the car carrier Siem Confucius with Coralius.

The car freighter serves German giant Volkswagen on the trans-Atlantic route.

To remind, this Siem-owned car carrier sailed on its first trip to USA, Mexico and back to Emden port earlier this year.

Emden port, located in northwestern Germany, is one of the most significant car shipping ports in Europe.

The German port is a new playground for Gasum as it continues to expand its LNG bunkering operations to new areas.

Last month, it signed a deal with Norway’s Equinor for the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region.

With this deal, the firm extended its geographical area from the Nordics to the ARA region.
