Hengli Heavy said in a statement on July 16 that it has secured orders for six vessels, including four LNG dual-fuel ships.
Under the orders, the shipbuilder will build two LNG dual-fuel Suezmax crude oil tankers for an unidentified company.
This contract also includes two optional vessels.
Several reports claim that Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping is behind this order.
In addition, Hengli Heavy will also build two LNG dual-fuel container vessels for an unidentified company.
The vessels will have a capacity of 22,000 teu.
Hengly Heavy said the contracted containerships are optional vessels of its previously announced batch of ultra-large container vessels.
Earlier this year, shipbuilding sources said that Switzerland-based shipping giant MSC and Hengli Heavy signed a shipbuilding agreement for six LNG dual-fuel vessels with a capacity of 22,000 teu.
With this, Hengli Heavy won orders to build 26 LNG dual-fuel vessels for MSC.
Hengli Heavy and Gianluigi Aponte-led MSC signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Geneva in August last year.
The two firms agreed to collaborate in a wide range of areas, including shipbuilding, engine manufacturing, ship repair, and vessel retrofitting.
MSC first booked ten LNG dual-fuel vessels with a capacity of 21,000 teu at the Chinese yard.
The shipping giant then ordered 10 more LNG dual-fuel vessels with a capacity of 24,000 teu.
